Hi tom I have run into an issue, i have been using the short url script with no problem, when all of a sudden i attempted to shorten a url and wasgiven a 404 error, i have checked htaccess and apache2.conf so that options are +indexes all but still i get a 404 error? any help would be much appreciated

Maybe, you removed "@"? If you remove it, a short url may conflict with one of existing path used in your web site some day. Unless you only use your web site for the short url script, you should keep @.
